Andrey Vilkov was born in the village of Varvarovka
in Penza region in 1977.
In 2000 graduated from Penza Art College
which keeps traditions of the founder of the college K. Savitsky.
After college, Andrey worked at school for some time,
then got married and after his wife graduated from another art college,
they moved to her native town of Serdobsk
where they now live, work and raise children. 
Andrey became a member of Artists’ Union of Russia in 2008,
holds numerous exhibitions in Russia and abroad.

It seems strange that young people prefer quiet provincial life,
but in the contemporary world the personal world
is not limited by the place he lives in. 
It all depends on the desires and abilities of the person. 
Some distance from the passions and rhythms of a big city
allows him to keep what was understood by the artist -
the basement of his creativity -
connection with the native land helps approach the harmony.
The tradition of Russian realism was adopted by the artist
and expresses the artist’s attitude to the art and life.
